For questions, please email us at: KarmaYogi@STLYoga.org
What kinds of classes do you teach?
Our current offerings are:
Hatha: holding poses for 5-8 slow breaths,
Yin: holding postures for 4-6 minutes each,
Chair: seated yoga consisting of twists and reaching,
Yoga in the Park: hatha in an outdoor setting
and
Individual Sessions: Contact for Details.
Are these classes beginner friendly?
Yes! The goal is to make these classes accesible to a wide range of folks. It's important that we start somewhere, and I'd be honored to have you in class. In the future, we may have a monthly class dedicated to "First-time" students.
Will modifications be offered?
Yes! The best thing you can give your body is what it needs. We do not want you to feel pain in these poses. Please choose a different pose if you are experiencing pain. Suggestions may be offered. If you would like guidance, please get the attention of Karma Yogi by raising your hand.
Will there be hands-on adjustments during class?
No, you will not be touched in these classes. We offer verbal cues for adjustments, and encourage you to listen to your body. If you prefer hands-on adjustments, please ask for a teacher recommendation. I know a lovely yoga teacher that excels in this space.
How do I pay for classes?
Venmo (@STL-Yoga) or cash are welcome prior to the start of class.
What is a "Sliding-Scale"?
A sliding-scale payment system offers greater accesability by letting people pay for class based on their income level. If you have the capacity, typical yoga classes in town are around $20 each. If you are able to help others access classes, you're welcome to pay $30 and support the community. If you're finding that this week you can contribute $10, that's great! We want you to here too.
Can my child come with me to class?
Students 16 & 17 years old are welcome to join with an adult.
